# Plate Pro

> Plate Pro is a native food-costing app for Mac, iPhone and iPad. It tells hospitality operators their true plate cost: change one supplier price and every recipe that uses that ingredient re-costs itself instantly, so food cost % and gross profit stay live and accurate. Private by design — no account, no sign-up, no tracking. Pay once or subscribe.

## Key facts

- **What it is:** Recipe and food costing software for professional kitchens — independent restaurants, cafés, bakeries, food trucks, caterers, small groups and meal-prep businesses.
- **Platforms:** Native Apple apps for macOS, iOS (iPhone) and iPadOS. Mac is the primary "do the heavy costing" surface; iPhone and iPad get equal billing. One purchase covers all three with the same Apple ID.
- **The cost cascade (core differentiator):** Ingredients feed recipes; recipes (and nested sub-recipes) feed menus. When a supplier price changes, the new cost flows through every recipe it touches automatically. This is the one job spreadsheets never get right.
- **Privacy:** No account, no sign-up, no tracking, no third-party analytics, zero data collected. Recipes, costs and margins stay on the user's device and in their private iCloud (CloudKit). Works fully offline; syncs when online.

- Wastage logging (by reason, cost and photo) and date-range reports.
- Printable recipe books, plating books and stocktake forms.
- CSV import of ingredients and supplier prices.
- Multi-business support.
- iCloud (CloudKit) sync across devices; PIN / Face ID lock.

## On the roadmap (NOT yet shipped — do not present as available)

- Full inventory management (stock counts, on-hand valuation, low-stock alerts).
- Purchase orders and supplier ordering.

Plate Pro makes no AI, POS or accounting claims.

- **Free:** 15 ingredients, 3 recipes, 1 supplier, full costing engine and iCloud sync. No trial clock.
- **Subscription:** monthly or yearly; unlocks unlimited recipes, suppliers and multi-business.
- **Lifetime (pay once):** single payment, owned forever including updates.
