About
Built by hospitality people.
Plate Pro started in a kitchen, not a boardroom. We built the costing tool we wished we'd had, fast, private, native to Apple, and ruthlessly focused on the one number that decides whether a plate makes money.
Why we built it
For the people who actually cost the menu.
Food cost is the biggest controllable cost in any kitchen, and most operators track it in a spreadsheet that breaks the moment a supplier raises a price, or they price by gut. We wanted a tool that keeps your true plate cost live: change one ingredient price and every recipe, sub-recipe and menu re-costs itself. No formulas to babysit, no broken cells.
Focus over feature-bloat.
We chose to do costing properly rather than become another enterprise suite that tries to do everything and does none of it well. Recipe and sub-recipe costing, supplier price history, wastage, the things that move your margin. We'd rather ship one trustworthy number than ten half-built dashboards.
Privacy and native craft matter to us.
Your costs and margins are nobody else's business. So there's no account, no sign-up, no tracking, we collect no data. Everything stays on your device and in your private iCloud, and it all works offline. And because it's a real Mac, iPhone and iPad app rather than a web page in a wrapper, it's fast, it feels right, and it respects the platform you already trust.
Plate Pro is made by Coffee Alchymists, a small team that cares about hospitality and about doing the work properly.
What we stand for
Three things we won't compromise on.
Costing-first
We do one thing properly: the true cost of every plate, sub-recipe and menu, with a live cost cascade. Not an enterprise suite that does ten things badly.
Private by design
No account, no sign-up, no tracking. We collect no data. Your recipes, costs and margins stay on your device and in your private iCloud.
Native Apple
A real Mac app and a real iPhone & iPad app, fast, offline, and built with the craft Apple users expect. Not a web page in a wrapper.
Cost your menu with confidence.
